Grammar Class Descriptions
Hands-On Ancient History
Each week, the class will cover a topic and do a hands-on history project. Not only are several lessons spent on the Egyptian, Greek, and Roman civilizations, but others are covered throughout the year such as the Hebrew, Indus Valley, Mesopotamia, Aztec, Inca, Maya, and Ancient China civilizations.
Investigating God's Animals
If you are fascinated by animals, then this elementary zoology class is for you! There are hands-on science projects and experiments every week, as well as class guests in the Animals Alive section of class. Students learn important scientific skills and countless facts about animals.
6th & 7th Grade Math
Unlike the other Grammar level classes, this is a complete course in itself, with lessons turned in and graded by the teacher each week and a grade given for the course overall. The textbook that will be used is Saxon Math 76. Topics covered include order of operations, fractions, decimals, graphs, number patterns, word problems, expanded notation, prime factorization, percents, basic geometry, and much more.
Come join the fun! We're learning basic conversational Spanish together. Students will practice basic vocabulary words, answer classroom questions, sing some favorite songs, and even perform a skit at the end of the year in Spanish.
Learn to see the world with an artist's eye. This class not only teaches basic art techniques, it also will have fun seasonal projects throughout the year. Students will get to use watercolors, acrylics, pastels, fibers, markers, pencils, mosaics, and much more.
